Clinical pharmacist, lecturer and research studies manager based in Dubai. I study the safety and effectiveness of medicines in large real-world datasets, using pharmacoepidemiology and causal inference to inform clinical decisions, and chair the Research and Ethics Committee at Orthocure.
Clinical pharmacist, lecturer, research studies manager, and research ethics committee chairperson with an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy and experience in clinical practice, university teaching, clinical research management, research ethics governance, and observational research using large real-world healthcare datasets.
Expertise in pharmacoepidemiology, medication safety, adherence, oncology, geriatric pharmacotherapy, causal inference, and health outcomes research, with skills in R, SPSS, data analysis, survival analysis, psychometric testing, manuscript writing, literature review, and study design. Senior Collaborator with the Global Burden of Disease study and active in ethics review, mentoring, peer review, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Observational data organised the way a randomised trial would be: explicit eligibility criteria, treatment strategies assigned at a single time zero, and follow-up counted from that point. Aligning eligibility, assignment and time zero removes immortal-time and prevalent-user bias before any model is fitted.
Founded the five-member committee and its governance, review workflow, SOPs and policy. Chairs ethics review and post-approval oversight: amendments, deviations, serious adverse events, conflicts of interest and study closure.
Manages healthcare research studies from start-up to close-out, coordinating cross-functional teams on protocol adherence, participant safety, data quality and IRB, GCP and SOP compliance.
Teaches biostatistics, epidemiology and systems-based pharmacotherapy courses, with competency-based assessment and active-learning formats.
Led grant-supported observational studies on large healthcare databases and mentored other researchers in study design and analysis.
Interdisciplinary ward rounds, medication-query resolution and drug utilisation evaluation across inpatient and community settings.
